GWYGH, Ep. 101: Constitutional Supercrimes

Weeks ago, Darrell had an idea for a GWYGH episode: two movies, two comedians, two presidential elections. He gave Janine the choice of either Man of the Year (2006) starring Robin Williams or Head of State (2003) starring Chris Rock. After getting Kate's expert opinion, they choose a movie and dive right in. Be sure to stick around for an extra-special crime selection. Thank you so much to all of our awesome Patrons. GWYGH, 080: Go to Jail Forever

It's spooky season y'all, and you know what that means... we're watching a film about the world's worst serial killer: Death, from Final Destination 2 (2003)! Yes, that's right, they made a second one. They made five, actually, and we'll watch 'em all, even if it kills us.

GWYGH, Ep. 069.5: Bracelet Bylaws

No matter what decade it is, parents will always be scared and confused by the weird trends of their children and often come up with bizarre explanations for their behavior, sometimes even banning toys, fashion, or media because of its supposed connotations. One such moral panic was the jelly bracelet of the early 2000s, known by some concerned parents and news outlets as "sex bracelets." Janine and Kate discuss a variety of bracelet trends from the 2000s as well as their experiences with sex ed.

Thanks to Paul Ryberg for the awesome theme song! Listen to his podcasts, The Minute Pod and Plug-in Missing.

GWYGH, Ep. 030: Baked Potato Earth

Janine offers Kate the choice between two delightfully awful science fiction movies: The Core (2003) or Day After Tomorrow (2004), both movies wherein the Earth is trying to kill itself and intrepid scientists have to find a way to survive. Also, thinly veiled political criticism? The 2000s were weird.

Thanks to Paul Ryberg from Plug-In Missing for our incredibly catchy theme song!

GWYGH, Ep. 029: Murder, Actually

Christmas is right around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than to murder-ize your favorite holiday romance? Liz and Josh from Bloody Date Night join Janine to tear into a beloved Christmas movie: Love Actually (2003). Clouded by a star-studded cast, this jam-packed collection of interwoven love stories is either a movie you defend passionately or hate fiercely. If you despise the film, you’ll appreciate our ranked list of the characters by how creepy they are . If you love the film, well, maybe you’ll get a chuckle out of our pitch for the horror remake of the film, Love Axe-ually. Either way, there’s something for everyone when discussing this divisive classic!

This is our last episode of the year as we’re taking a little hiatus for the holidays. See you in 2019!

GWYGH, Ep. 028: Christmas Spirit Shortage

Kicking off December right, Kate offers Janine two fun Christmas movies from 2003 with wildly different vibes: Bad Santa or Elf.

Tell your friends about GWYGH! Guaranteed to be "lighthearted fun on a cracker," according to Kate's mom's wonderful review. We love you!

Thank you so much to Paul from Plug in Missing for the amazing jingle featured in this episode!

GWYGH, Ep. 13: BasketBlades (TM)

Picture this: you're at a yard sale, browsing a selection of DVDs, when you're faced with a choice: Secondhand Lions (2003) or Dodgeball (2004). They're marked $3 dollars each, and you only have $2.83 in assorted coins jangling in your pocket. Your hands are shaking. You know you can't take them both home with you. You'll barely be able to haggle the price down to buy one and still have a quarter for that waterlogged paperback copy of "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey that you've been eyeing. What do you do? Which do you choose? Well, we can't answer that for you. That's your own journey. When Kate made the same offer to Janine, however, she decided to go with Dodgeball, a mid-2000s comedy starring Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller. Don't miss out on our discussion on how exploding birds improve any sport as well as our new business venture: Basketblades™.

GWYGH, Mini Ep. 003: Udder Nonsense

Kate and Janine follow Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie to the dairy farm as they watch the second episode of The Simple Life. Good news: the girls wear sensible shoes and the chihuahua gets to play outside! Also, be sure to listen until the end of the episode for details on an upcoming contest and giveaway.
